Caren Lissner is an editor for a chain of weekly newspapers based in North Jersey, directly across the river from midtown Manhattan. She grew up in central Jersey and majored in English at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where she wrote articles and columns for the Daily Pennsylvanian newspaper.
After graduation, Lissner moved to North Jersey. As she began work as a reporter covering gritty political battles and festivals in Hoboken, she also continued her fiction and satirical writing, sometimes placing essays in the New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer, and Weatherwise Magazine.
In the late 1990s, Lissner began working on CARRIE PILBY. The film rights were at one time optioned (from February, 2002 to February, 2003). Lissner’s followup novel, STARTING FROM SQUARE TWO, was released in March, 2004.
She is presently working on a third novel that has nothing to do with the other two, as well as a screenplay.
In her free time, she enjoys random road trips and nerdy trivia games.
